Dear 3rd Grade Parents:
We hope you had a relaxing holiday and that you are ready for our Spring Term! This week we have been working on creating our own personal goals. Students have had to reflect on last year and on their report card and see how they can develop academically and personally. The goals they have come up with are very much personal to them so please ask your child to share their goals so that they can be held accountable at home as well.
We hope that you have received the new schedules from us. There is just a slight modification on Thursdays. For 3C, students have Library the 5th period and P.E the 6th period (the last lesson). For 3V, students have IPC 5th period and Library the 6th period.
Before the Winter Break, we did an hour of coding and the students were very excited about being introduced to the Coding language. If you would like to investigate these websites further at home here they are: * www.code.org/learn * www.tynker.com * www.codeacademy.com
Please be reminded that next Friday, January 23rd, are the funeral services of Mr Rune Svaninger and regular lessons will be suspended from 12pm onwards. We have received a few slips from parents who are unable to collect their children, and more information will be passed on to you regarding this.
Next week, we start our unit on Significant People- They Made a Difference. Students will deepen their knowledge in understanding that some people have made such a big difference in the world that their influence on our lives can still be felt today. We will be looking at scientists to sports people, from politicians to musicians, from all backgrounds, countries, races and religions. We will see that there are people whose ideas or achievements have singled them out from others.
In Math, we have started our unit on multiplication. Please make sure you help your child practice their times tables, whether you have a minute in the car or on the tunnelbana. Knowing their times tables off by heart will help them with larger problems.
